All you need to know about the new Apple's Independent Repair Provider Program
Apple announced a new modality of repair program that will provide genuine parts, tools, training and other benefits to independent service providers, providing even more service options to customers.
The customer should have confidence the repair is done right. We believe the safest and most reliable repair is one handled by a trained technician using genuine parts that have been properly engineered and rigorously tested.
Jeff Williams, Apple's chief operating officer.
We've prepared a summary with everything you need to know:
Will the AASPs program be terminated?
No, the new independent repair provider program complements the growing global network of over 5,000 AASPs.
What is the difference between the independent repair provider program and the AASP program?
AASPs provide repairs on the entire Apple product line, whether or not covered under warranty. The new program provides service only for out of warranty iPhones. AASPs still being the only place for warranty and AppleCare Protection Plan services.Independent repair companies will have access to the same parts, tools and other features as AASPs.

The program is being launched in the US with expansion plans for other countries.
What are the requirements to apply to the independent repair provider program?
To qualify for the new program, companies must already be up and running with commercial documentation available for review by Apple.
